Headteacher's Letter 05.02.2025
Dear families,
I hope this letter finds you well as we move towards the end of this half term. With the period of Lent and Ramadan fast approaching we will enter a significant time of reflection, prayer, and community for many of our students and families. In addition, we find ourselves in the midst of mock examinations for Year 11 and a host of activities including trips to Greece and Bangladesh. We will keep you informed of these and all over events via our website and social media.
Protecting against illness
Recently, there has been an increase in students suffering from colds and flu-like symptoms. To help reduce the spread of illness, we kindly ask for your support in reinforcing good hygiene habits with your children. We have enhanced our cleaning protocols, regularly disinfecting surfaces throughout the day to minimise germs. Additionally, we encourage students to wash their hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow, and avoid sharing personal items like water bottles. By working together and following these preventive measures, we can help keep our school community healthy and safe.
Laptops
We are fortunate that all students in our school are provided with a laptop. In today's digital age, technology has become an integral part of education, providing valuable resources and opportunities for learning. With this comes the responsibility to ensure the proper use and security of the access and hardware provided.
From September 2025, if a laptop is damaged beyond repair, a replacement will be provided. However, a £50 security deposit will be required from parents/carers before the replacement device is issued. This measure ensures that resources remain available for all students and helps to reinforce the importance of responsible device usage.
Should you have any concerns or questions regarding laptops, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Your partnership is greatly valued and appreciated.
Mock Examinations Year 11
The next set of Year 11 mock examinations will soon be underway. These will take place between 7th and 26th February 2025. The exam timetable has been shared with students and is available on the school website. If you have a child in Year 11 please do prompt them to plan a revision timetable and get revising. Revision guidance can be found on the school website HERE.
Children’s Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week takes place from 3rd - 7th February. It is widely recognised that young people have faced significant challenges over the past couple of years and this has taken a toll for many on their mental health. At Stepney All Saints we support all of our students through a variety of ways. We have school counsellors and assist families with referrals to other agencies. In readiness for Children’s Mental Health Week, groups and charities have pulled together a range of activities, resources and information to provide support and to raise awareness of the challenges our young people face. Please see below the link to some of these resources.

If your child is struggling with their mental health in any way, please do let us know so we can support in whatever way we are able.
